” To commit, is…

” To commit, is to do and to do is to feel accomplished and good about oneself. Except if there are “circumstances beyond your control” , in which case you must possess the mental capacity to acknowledge ,accept and understand this lack of control. Essentially, you must learn to “be good with it”and this is where so many overstressed individuals fail- acceptance of things in life that are “out of their control.”

” If you say you will “do it” then do it. Once you “commit” to certain things in life you ought to follow through with them, except….When there are “circumstances beyond your control.” As a result, you should acknowledge and accept this “out of control” factor and … the recipients of said behavior need  and should be understanding of this. If  not, that is “their ” problem, not yours, Let it go…and carry on…:)

Cuz I’m Happy Driving in my Car….

” Do you ever take a drive, just to drive? Do you ever go, without knowing “where” you are going? Do you ever drive without being “connected?”, without the radio, cd, or ipod playlist playing ,or blaring? Perhaps you should try it. Drive to drive, drive to “quiet” yourself , drive to “take in” your surroundings, see what you do not normally see, hear what you do not normally hear because you are ” TOO BUSY” being distracted. Life can be pleasant, life can be beautiful, life can be enjoyable and life can be appreciated if we SIMPLY SLOW DOWN a few hundred paces…..” Try it, just once and I believe you will try it again…. 🙂

When you arise …

When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive – to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love – then make that day count!
— Steve Maraboli

i hope you did this today and strive to do it each and every day. Words can inspire, yet actions go to the head of the line and can truly make a difference for others and for your inner well-being..

Did you make a difference today? Large,or small, it does not matter as long as YOU DID! 🙂

“Practice what …

“Practice what you preach” and hope for the best!!!

As an educator, I try very hard to implement the concepts that I teach to others and to make it a habit. “Actions speak louder than words” is a very real and true statement; however, do you ever wonder if others are even “noticing?” In the world of education, your “teaching moments” may come “far and few between”; therefore, when they arise, I do my best to use them and seize the moment with practicality.  This occurred today and I “seized” the moment, only to be dismayed, and disappointed. The student did not experience the same “LIGHTBULB” moment and had a negative comment that was in direct oppositionn to what I was teaching, yet seemed completely satisfactory to him/her. Well, these things happen and what do you do?  Get back on the horse and continue to ride…

I do love educating and not a day goes by that I do not learn…from others, from errors, from…many things.

How about you??

“Look around yo…

“Look around you. Everything changes. Everything on this earth is in a continuous state of evolving, refining, improving, adapting, enhancing and changing. You were not put on this earth to remain stagnant.”
— Steve Maraboli

Think about this each day, as mundane as we perceive its events, is still different from the day before because each day is new and something always “comes up.” So, as dynamic as everything is on this earth, so too must YOU be dynamic. Think about that when you face potentially stressful situations-think first, recall on the past, adapt, then refine, change and  control that Stress!

Makes sense, right? Life is dynamic and you must be just as dynamic to counter balance it all.

This is self-explanatory. It has optimism written all over it and loads of positive energy- seize the moment, make things happen and be happy with yourself! and the choices you make.

“To believe in …

“To believe in oneself, achieve a goal and receive positive feedback is an exhilarating feeling. Absorb it, linger there for a short while… Learn from the experience ,then carry on, move forward and tackle the next goal with that same belief in oneself. .Often times with setting goals and achieving goals, the distress one builds up along the way can be followed by eustress and euphoric feelings. Funny, ironic how that works… The power of perception, preparation and self-confidence in full swing.” MJD

“If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the POWER to revoke at any moment.- Marcus Aurelius

The power of perception lies within this as well as the power of one’s internal locus of control. You have more control of your stress than you ever imagined, know it, believe it, and do something about it!

I have accepted…

I have accepted fear as part of life – specifically the fear of change… I have gone ahead despite the pounding in the heart that says: turn back…
— Erica Jong

Whenever this thing called fear approaches you , or encroaches you, step back, take a deep breathe and think through things. Think from worst case scenario to best case scenario then….step forward, move forward and face it, whatever “it” may be. Often times that worst case scenario…is not the end of the world.:)

A man is but the product of his thoughts.

“Positive thinking will let you do everything better

– Zig Ziglar, personal development guru

Positive vs. negative thinking is there even an option?  Realizing the power of positive thinking is a step in the right direction, so why aren’t you taking that step?
